Three-channel sound installation
03:02 minutes
2012 | Zurich

1408 (AVE MARIA) is a three-channel sound installation. A poem and a telephone monologue can be heard on the first channel. The poem is spoken in German and English, the monologue in Spanish. On the second channel a clock is ticking and on the third channel the sound recording simulates the switching of an old radio. For it contains parts of an audio book, a radio play, a football game, two songs and the same voice that speaks the poem on channel 1, which here recites the numbers 1,4,0 and 8 in the three languages spread over the whole piece in disorderly order. The speakers can be found lying in an equilateral triangle on the floor in a darkened room with the room number 1408.
